William Shatner’s guest is Will Wheaton, actor and host of TableTop
They discuss video games and the tasting language of beer.
At thepoint, they taste and then ‘unmask’ the brown-bagged bottle. It is 2010 Hawk and Horse Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon.
Guest Wil Wheaton scores it a 91; Shatner’s sommelier Mike Horn gives it a 92.
The review is:
Old world style with lower alcohol
Grows in rich volcanic soil
A nose of cedar, ripe roses and nutmeg
Soft and elegant, tastes of Bing cherries, sweet fruit, leather and cocoa
Long velvety finish with sweet tannins

“The most important thing you want to see in the vineyard is your shadow.”
-Stephen Krebs, Napa Valley Jr. College Viticulture Program
At 2,200 feet elevation, in the Red Hills AVA, we just broke into 100-degree days! We are casting our shadow this week doing “canopy management.” This is the time of the year when we see rapid shoot and canopy growth. In order to provide proper shading, sun and wind flow, we stuff the canopy into the fruiting wires.
The lovely Marlene Carter pouring our 98 point Cabernet Souvignon on June 7th at the San Diego Wine and Roses Event! Held at the stunning 5 star Grand Del Mar, this is always a wonderful event for Camp Good Days, a charity which we love.
Welcome to Summer!
We are experiencing interesting weather patterns this year, from rain and cool,
coastal days to heat into the ‘90s. As they say…
”if you don’t like the weather in California…just wait a few minutes!"
