The nose is concentrated yet lifted and fresh, with notes of dark cherry compote, violets, beets and spices. The palate is full-bodied with finely integrated tannins and acidity, showing layers of blackcurrants, mocha, cassis and sweet spices. Drink now.

2009 Cabernet a Great Wine in Fredric Koeppel’s look back at 2020
This annual post looks back at all the wines I wrote about in the previous year and singles out 50 that I thought were great wines. “Great” doesn’t necessarily imply the most profound, though several of these are as profound as wine gets; nor does it necessarily mean that these are the world’s famed wines intended for laying down in cellars for long aging. I don’t usually encounter such wines anyway.
2022 Cabernet Sauvignon / 91 Points / James Suckling
A powerful, full-flavored red that offers abundant cherry, rose petal and iron aromas followed by densely concentrated red and black fruit flavors. It’s full-bodied, sturdily tannic and balanced by good acidity for freshness. Raspberries, minerals, toasted cedar and wild herbs. Drinkable now, but best from 2029.
2019 Cabernet Sauvignon / 92 Points / The Wine Guys
Notes of blackberries, savory herbs, red plum, baking spice, cedar, leather, underbrush, cocoa, oak and licorice. Slight tartness on the palate, more of a medium bodied mouthfeel to it despite its 14% ABV. Medium plus acidity, big tannins, slightly herbaceous finish. Stayed very consistent across 3 days while picking up a very attractive mint and savory herb note near the end, this wine is built to last so no rush to consume.
2010 Cabernet Sauvignon / 94 points / International Wine Review
Medium dark garnet. This is by far our favorite of the 2008-2010 Library Reserve Trio. It has an enticing, multifaceted nose of cassis, sweet oak, and a hint of forest floor. The palate has a velvet texture and is densely flavored and elegant with fine-grained tannins. Still a youthful wine with a long life ahead.
2022 Cabernet Sauvignon / 94 Points / Tasting Panel
From the winery’s biodynamic-certified estate vineyard reaching elevations as high as 2,200 feet, this is a highly aromatic red with a perfume of chocolate-covered cherry and new leather. On the palate, the grip is firm and dusty, Italian herbs, iron and taut acidity settle atop a mineral base.
2010 Cabernet Sauvignon / Wil Wheaton & William Shatner
Old world style with lower alcohol
Grows in rich volcanic soil
A nose of cedar, ripe roses and nutmeg
Soft and elegant, tastes of Bing cherries, sweet fruit, leather and cocoa
Long velvety finish with sweet tannins
